Payor Sources
- Private Pay -This is where the resident pays directly for nursing home care.
- Private Insurance – There are types of private insurance that will pay for some or all of a resident's care. Examples are: HMO, Long Term Care Insurance, Blue Cross.
- Meadow View has contracts with: Blue Cross; Security Blue; UPMC; Unison; Freedom Blue; (if your insurance is not listed, please ask our Admissions Coordinator to check for coverage).
- Worker's Compensation – This is a federal program that pays for nursing home care if the resident is eligible.
- Veteran's Administration – This is a federal program that pays for a veteran's stay in the nursing home for six months.
- Medicare – This is a federally funded program that sometimes pays for nursing home care if the resident meets certain medical criteria.
- Medical Assistance – This is a federal and state program that pays enrolled providers for care provided to eligible, low-income residents. It is the responsibility of the nursing home to assist the resident in applying for Medical Assistance when necessary.
